How to use this list, and what "verified" means
The official OPIc pages are on two sites: opic.or.kr, run by Multicampus in Korea, and actfl.org, the test owner. The official TOEIC Speaking pages are on ets.org, the test owner, and on each country's registrar: toeicswt.co.kr (YBM, Korea), iibc-global.org (IIBC, Japan), toeic.com.tw (Taiwan), iigvietnam.com (IIG Vietnam) and cpathailand.co.th (CPA Thailand). Fees, dates, booking and results always come from the registrar in your country. Everything else, including this page, is a second-hand copy that can go out of date.
Every link below was checked on 21 October 2026. "Verified" means the page or PDF answered and we read the text we quote. Some opic.or.kr and toeicswt.co.kr pages are drawn by script, so a quick fetch sees only the menu; we read those as a desktop browser does. "Unverified" means the page did not answer us that day; we still give the address an official page links to, and say what we could not confirm. The same list feeds the OPIc and TOEIC Speaking hub, and we re-check it weekly with the dates block.
- OPIc in Korea: the opic.or.kr 시험소개 page, with the fee, the format, the IM split and the step-by-step process.
- TOEIC Speaking anywhere: the ETS examinee handbook (PDF), with the scoring guide for every task.
- Your country's registrar page for fees and dates: YBM, IIBC, toeic.com.tw, IIG Vietnam or CPA Thailand, all below.
Two corrections came out of this check. The second table on YBM's levels page is the TOEIC Writing table, not an older Speaking table. And in Japan, the TOEIC Speaking Test has its own change and cancellation fees, lower than the Speaking and Writing fees that are easier to find.

Our own summary of the same rows, with registrar links side by side, is the fees, dates and results page.
OPIc in Korea: the Multicampus pages
Multicampus runs OPIc in Korea. Its site is the only place to book a Korean sitting, and it is where the figures that matter to Korean employers live: the fee, the IM split and the retest rule.
- opic.or.kr home: booking (시험신청), test centres (시험센터), the calendar (시험일정), results and certificate print (성적확인 및 인증서출력), the certificate authenticity check (인증서진위확인) and notices.
- 시험소개 (about the test): seven test languages; 12 to 15 questions; KRW 84,000 including VAT; 40 minutes, about 60 with orientation; holistic rating against the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines on four areas, Function, Accuracy, Content/Context and Text Type. It says “OPIc은 IM등급을 세분화하여 제공합니다 (IM3 > IM2 > IM1)”, and that OPIc is used by about 1,700 companies and institutions, with around 100 centres in 25 regions.
- 수험자 가이드 (candidate guide): fees (OPIc KRW 84,000, the writing test WPT KRW 78,100), results 5 days after the test from 13:00, validity 2 years, the 25-day retest rule and one Waiver every 150 days. It is drawn by script; open it in a normal browser.
- Annual schedule: the year's sittings. Also script-drawn.
The 시험소개 page is also the clearest official description of what happens on the day. Arrive at least 10 minutes before the start; without your ID you cannot enter. Orientation covers the Background Survey, the Self Assessment that sets the difficulty, a microphone check and a sample question. Then:
| Step on opic.or.kr | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1st Session | About 7 questions chosen for you; each question can be heard twice; no time limit per answer |
| Difficulty reset | You choose easier, similar or harder questions for the rest; the number of questions depends on the choice |
| 2nd Session | About 5 to 8 more questions, again heard twice, with no time limit per answer |
The same page links a tutorial in each of the seven languages (it says to use Chrome), a sample certificate, a sample Score Report with tips for improving, and a paid feedback service, OPIc 세부진단서 (Diagnostic Comments), that adds a diagnosis and rater comments to your result. It also notes that results come 5 days after the test, with some early release dates announced separately. What the levels mean in practice, with TalkDrill-written sample answers, is on our OPIc levels page.
One more fact from the same page, for people already at the top: Multicampus also runs the telephone interview, the OPI, at KRW 231,000. From tests on 1 January 2026, the English OPI is open only to people who hold a valid OPIc AL in English.
OPIc from ACTFL: the guide, the tips and the demo
ACTFL owns OPIc and writes the rating rules. Its pages describe the test as ACTFL delivers it; the Korean operational details (the fee, the orientation, IM1 to IM3, the 25-day rule) are Multicampus's and come from opic.or.kr.
- ACTFL OPIc page: an avatar named Ava asks the questions; a background survey and a self-assessment come first; the test takes between 20 and 40 minutes on average.
- OPIc Familiarization Guide (PDF): the best official explanation of how the test works. It says the survey answers decide the pool of prompts, that two people with the same survey still get different tests, that the warm-up ("Tell me something about yourself") is not rated, and that ratings are holistic across Functions, Accuracy, Context and content, and Text type.
- Tips for OPI and OPIc test takers: short, and worth reading before you buy any template book.
- OPIc demo (unverified): linked from ACTFL's page, but it redirected in a loop for us on 21 October 2026. Korean candidates have the opic.or.kr tutorial instead.
The guide's table of forms explains why the self-assessment matters. These are ACTFL's own figures:
| ACTFL form | Levels it focuses on | Range of possible ratings |
|---|---|---|
| Form 1 | Novice Low to Novice High | Novice Low to Intermediate Low |
| Form 2 | Novice High to Intermediate Mid | Novice Low to Intermediate High |
| Form 3 | Intermediate Mid to Advanced Low | Novice Low to Advanced Low |
| Form 4 | Advanced Low and Advanced Mid | Intermediate High to Advanced High |
| Form 5 | Advanced High and Superior | Advanced Low to Superior |
The tips page also settles the template question for OPIc. In ACTFL's words: "Neither the OPI nor the OPIc are designed to assess a test taker's rehearsed performance or memorized speech. An abundance of rehearsed language or memorized speech may prevent a rating beyond the Novice proficiency level." Its last tip is "produce as much language as you can!" Both shape how we write the OPIc practice bank: structures and your own content, never a script.
TOEIC Speaking in Korea: the YBM pages
- toeicswt.co.kr home: booking, sittings every Saturday and Sunday through December 2026, results (성적확인/성적표발급) and a check of an original score report (성적표원본대조). The Korean fee appears at the booking step, which we did not reach, so we print no figure.
- 시험소개: 11 questions in about 20 minutes, with the preparation and answer seconds for each task, a note that question 10 is played twice, and the line that ETS raters score the answers and results come within 5 days.
- 레벨과 점수: the score bands with ACTFL-style level names, and a footnote that the sublevel classification is based on ETS score-mapping research.
- 기출문제/샘플문제: YBM's released and sample sets, listed for Speaking as Test 01 to Test 11. The page notes that the explanation under each answer describes the scoring criteria and is not shown in real results. We read the list, not each set.
The levels page has two tabs. The Speaking tab is the one that matters here; the other tab is the TOEIC Writing table, where Advanced High starts at 180, and it is easy to quote by mistake.
| Level on YBM's Speaking tab | Score |
|---|---|
| Advanced High | 200 |
| Advanced Mid | 180 to 190 |
| Advanced Low | 160 to 170 |
| Intermediate High | 140 to 150 |
| Intermediate Mid (reported as Mid1, Mid2, Mid3) | 110 to 130 |
| Intermediate Low | 90 to 100 |
| Novice High | 60 to 80 |
| Novice Mid / Low | 0 to 50 |
Note the line under the table: “Intermediate Mid의 경우 Mid1 < Mid2 < Mid3로 세분화하여 제공합니다”. TOEIC Speaking in Korea splits Intermediate Mid into three steps, just as OPIc does, but the two scales are separate tests and a TOEIC IM3 is not an OPIc IM3. What each band asks of you, task by task, is on our TOEIC Speaking scores and levels page.
ETS: the examinee handbook and the sample tests
ETS's old TOEIC Speaking and Writing address now redirects to its TOEIC preparation materials page. Its Speaking and Writing section links the two documents every candidate should have.
The examinee handbook (PDF) is the rule book. What to read in it:
- The scoring guides for each task. Read-aloud answers get two ratings, pronunciation and intonation and stress, from 0 to 3. Questions 3 to 10 are rated 0 to 3 and question 11 from 0 to 5; "the sum of all ratings is converted to a scaled score of 0 to 200", in steps of 10.
- The descriptors. Eight Speaking score ranges with what speakers in each range can typically do, plus High, Medium and Low levels for pronunciation and for intonation and stress, based on your reading aloud.
- The plagiarism clause. ETS or the local office may cancel scores when "a speaking response includes, for example, text or ideas that are substantially similar to that found in other TOEIC responses". This is the official reason to learn structures, not memorise scripts.
- Score review. For a fee, within one month of the test, once, about four weeks for the result, requested through your local office.
- Validity and price. A score report is not reissued once two years have passed, and "prices for the TOEIC Speaking and Writing tests vary worldwide", so the fee is always the local registrar's.
The sample tests (PDF) contain one full Speaking test with the official directions. They confirm the timings that matter most: three seconds to prepare after each of questions 5 to 7, then 15, 15 and 30 seconds; 45 seconds to read the information for questions 8 to 10; and question 10 heard twice. Both documents repeat one line worth taping to your desk: "It is to your advantage to say as much as you can in the time allowed." We run all 11 tasks on these timers in the TOEIC Speaking practice bank, with TalkDrill-written items.
Japan: the IIBC pages
IIBC runs the TOEIC Program in Japan, and it sells the Speaking Test on its own as well as Speaking and Writing together.
| IIBC page | What it holds (21 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|
| TOEIC Speaking Test | 6,930 yen including tax; 11 questions, about 20 minutes; 29 November 2026 (apply by 13 November, 15:00) and 20 December 2026 (applications open 23 October, 10:00); score online 17 days after the test, digital certificate on day 18, paper certificate posted within 30 days |
| Speaking Test fees | 6,930 yen; 8,745 yen in the extended application period; change fee 1,815 yen; cancellation fee 3,150 yen; no date change or cancellation in the extended period, which takes card payment only |
| Speaking Test format | The 11-question table with preparation and answer times and what each task is scored on |
| Sample test | IIBC's official sample for the Speaking Test |
| Score guide (スコアの目安) | Band descriptors from 0 to 200 and the High, Medium and Low levels for pronunciation and for intonation and stress |
| TOEIC Speaking & Writing Tests | 10,450 yen; the same two dates; results 17 days after the test |
| Speaking & Writing fees | 10,450 yen; 13,200 yen in the extended period; change fee 2,750 yen; cancellation fee 5,000 yen |
If your employer only needs a Speaking score, the Speaking Test alone costs less and has lower change and cancellation fees. Ask the HR team which test they accept before you book. Our Japanese-language guide, TOEIC Speaking 対策, walks through the application from these pages.
Taiwan, Vietnam and Thailand
Taiwan
The registration and fees page lists NT$3,300 for Speaking and Writing, NT$1,650 for candidates aged 65 and over, and no fee for low-income households, with payment by credit card, at 7-ELEVEN ibon or at FamiPort; your ID on the day must match the booking. The test dates page lists 22 November 2026 (registration 21 September to 9 November, scores 8 December) and 13 December 2026 (registration 12 October to 30 November, scores 30 December), then twelve 2027 dates from 10 January to 5 December, all in seven cities: Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung.
Vietnam
IIG Vietnam's TOEIC SW page describes the Speaking test as 11 questions in 20 minutes, scored from 0 to 200 in 8 levels, and says the certificate is valid for 2 years from the test date. It has a registration button but shows no fee and no calendar, so we print neither. Ask IIG directly before you plan around a date.
Thailand
CPA Thailand's TOEIC S&W Testing Program page says public tests run once a month and that you can take Speaking Only, Writing Only or both. Its reservation page gives the fees: 2,250 baht for the Speaking Test and 3,500 baht for Speaking and Writing. Tests are held in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and individuals book through the Bangkok call centre at least two weeks before the test. The same page says score reports are ready 9 calendar days after the test.
What not to trust, and how to tell
- Lists sold as real test questions. We found no OPIc question bank published by ACTFL or Multicampus, and ACTFL warns that memorised speech may cap you at Novice. For TOEIC Speaking, the released material we found is YBM's 기출문제/샘플문제 page, the ETS sample tests and IIBC's sample. Everything on TalkDrill is written by TalkDrill in the test format and labelled as ours; when we say 기출, we mean past-style practice, never real items.
- Fees copied into blogs. Fees change, and a blog may quote last year's or another country's. We print the Korean TOEIC Speaking fee nowhere because we could not read it at YBM's booking step; if a site gives one, check it there.
- OPIc to TOEIC conversion charts. No page we read publishes an official conversion between OPIc levels and TOEIC Speaking scores. YBM's level names are its own mapping, "based on ETS' score mapping research". Plan for the number or level your employer names on the test it names. Our OPIc vs TOEIC Speaking page compares the two without inventing a conversion.
- The "older table" story. If a guide says YBM's levels page has an old Speaking table with Advanced High at 180 to 200, it has mixed up the Writing tab.
- AI scores, including ours. Any AI estimate, from any provider, is practice feedback. Only ACTFL-certified raters award an OPIc level and only ETS raters a TOEIC Speaking score.
Once you know the rules, practise the part no official page can do for you. Use role-play practice for OPIc-style questions with follow-ups and read-aloud practice for TOEIC questions 1 and 2, and check the habits for your first language on the mistakes by first language page.
