The official pages in one table
These are the official cabin crew careers pages for the six airlines our readers apply to most, with what each one tells you and how we could read it on 21 October 2026. Start here before you trust anything else, including this site: the airline's own page is the only source for requirements, events and pay. "Browser read" means the page blocks automated fetchers, so we opened it in a normal browser; the content is still the airline's own.

Emirates: three pages worth bookmarking
The cabin crew page
The Emirates cabin crew page is the most complete official page of any airline here. What it contained on 21 October 2026:
- Requirements. "Fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages are an advantage)", "At least 160cm tall and able to reach 212cm high", "At least 21 years old", "At least 1 year of hospitality or customer service experience", "A minimum of high school (Grade 12) education", "No visible tattoos while in Emirates cabin crew uniform", and the ability to meet UAE employment visa requirements.
- Events. Open Days (walk in) and invite-only events, each with city, date, 9AM start and venue or agency. On 21 October: 78 Open Days and 29 invite-only events, two of them in India (Bangalore and Kolkata).
- The day. "Introduction", "Assessment: You'll join group activities and take an online test at the venue", "Final Interview".
- Documents. A valid ID, plus digital copies of an "Up-to-date CV in English", an "Education certificate copy" and a "Passport copy in PDF".
- Training. "seven and a half weeks" in Dubai, in seven steps from Induction to Service.
- Pay. For Grade II (Economy Class): basic salary AED 4,980 a month, flying pay AED 69.6 an hour "based on avg. 80-100 hours / month", and an average monthly pay of AED 11,244 (USD 3,061), described as "approximate numbers".
- FAQ. Photo ID if you have no passport yet; no online assessment days "at the moment"; reply to the invitation email to reschedule; you may attend an Open Day in another country. On head coverings it says: "Alternative head coverings are not part of the current cabin crew uniform."
The Emirates Group Careers FAQ
The help and support FAQ covers all Emirates Group roles. Three answers matter to cabin crew applicants: "If you are not successful in your current assessment, you can apply for the same role after 6 months"; "All employees sign a three-year non-binding contract"; and "The probation period for all employees is 6 months." It also says salary is paid monthly in AED and that you "will not pay income tax in the UAE", while home-country tax rules may still apply.
The recruitment fraud page
The recruitment fraud page is short and worth reading once. Its core line: "Any job offer, seemingly from the Emirates Group, that asks you for money is fraudulent."
Etihad: the careers page, the posting and the style guide
Etihad splits its information across three official pages.
| Page | What it says (21 October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Cabin crew careers page | "Minimum age of 21 at the time of application", "Minimum height of 163 cm", "Fluent in English, written and spoken", "High school graduate (Grade 12 or equivalent)", no visible tattoos in uniform ("cosmetic or bandage coverings are not permitted"). The day: "interactive group activities, complete aptitude and English language assessments, and join us for a final interview". Invite-only. Eleven recruitment events from 27 October to 15 December 2026. "Three year renewable contracts." |
| Cabin crew posting on SmartRecruiters | Requirements repeated, with "additional languages are an advantage" and "No visible tattoos or piercings". Pay: "Earn up to AED 10,000 per month, including additional pay for flight hours and layovers, depending on your roster." Progression: Economy to Business Class "from 12 months", Business Class to Cabin Senior "from 12 months", Cabin Senior to Cabin Manager "from 24 months". Relocation with "30 days of hotel accommodation on arrival". Its event list had nine cities, not eleven, and two dates that differ from the careers page (Amsterdam 3 November, Bangkok 12 November); go by the careers page. |
| Style and image guidelines page | "Before attending an event, please review our Style and Image Guidelines. They outline our expectations for business attire, grooming, visible tattoos, scars and birthmarks." |
Etihad also says that it "isn't affiliated with any Cabin Crew or Flight Attendant academies", while students from academies are welcome to apply. If an academy claims a special route into Etihad, that sentence is worth remembering.
Qatar Airways: the recruitment page and the job search
The Qatar Airways cabin crew recruitment page blocks automated fetchers, so we read it in a browser on 21 October 2026. Its "Essential qualifications for Qatar Airways cabin crew" panel listed: "Minimum arm reach of 212 cm", "At least 10 years of formal education", "Fluent in written and spoken English", "Excellent health and physical fitness" and "Ability to relocate to Doha, Qatar". A second panel, "What will help you succeed", added "Preferably 2+ years of experience in hospitality, customer service, aviation, or another customer-facing role" and "Strong interpersonal and communication skills". The benefits listed include company-provided accommodation and transport in Doha, travel benefits and international medical insurance. The page does not describe the assessment stages, an English test or events.
Its Apply now button opens the Qatar Airways careers job search filtered for cabin crew. On 21 October 2026 that search returned five Doha-based roles, none of them an entry-level cabin crew post or a recruitment event. Because Qatar publishes so little about the process, everything our video interview page says about its recorded interviews is labelled as candidate reports.
Air India, IndiGo and Akasa
Air India
The Air India Cabin Crew Programme page (browser read, 21 October 2026) lists the eligibility criteria: an Indian national with a valid Indian passport; aged 18 to 27 for freshers and up to 35 for experienced crew; Class 12 "with a minimum of 50% marks"; at least 155 cm for females and 170 cm for males; BMI 18 to 22 for females and 18 to 25 for males; "normal eyesight (6/6 vision)"; no visible tattoos in uniform; and "excellent communication skills in Hindi and English". The recruitment journey has four steps: online application and assessment, a selection process that "Includes medical checkup and interviews", a pre-employment medical, and training. Its FAQs say that applying online is "mandatory" before any walk-in and that customer service experience "is not mandatory". The Cabin Crew category on Air India careers showed "no open positions" that day.
IndiGo
The IndiGo careers page lists Inflight Services ("The Cabin Crew department at IndiGo ensures a delightful service experience while prioritizing passenger safety and security") and a Hiring Events section. The Inflight Services events page is the one to watch: on 21 October 2026 it listed 25 cabin crew walk-ins between 13 and 30 October, each with city, time and venue, under the rule "Completion of online registration and assessment is mandatory." Neither page publishes eligibility rules such as age or height in the text we read.
Akasa Air
The Akasa Air careers page lists Flight Operations, Inflight Services and Ground Services. It showed no dated cabin crew drive or eligibility list in the text we read on 21 October 2026. It does carry the clearest fee notice of any Indian carrier, covered below.
Fraud warnings and how to report
Every airline here warns about fake recruiters. The table gives each warning and the reporting route the airline names.
| Airline | Warning, in its words | How to report |
|---|---|---|
| Emirates | "The Emirates Group will never ask for money transfers or payment of any kind from job applicants." Approaches through "WhatsApp messages, personal/public email accounts ... social media, or unusual links" are "likely fraudulent". | The official channels on the fraud page, and your recruitment coordinator |
| Etihad | "We will never ask for personal information, bank details, or payment during the recruitment process." | Not named; treat any request for money as fraud |
| IndiGo | People misusing the IndiGo name "are demanding money in exchange for interviews or jobs". | eco@goIndiGo.in |
| Air India | "Air India does not charge any fees for job applications or interviews." | "verify them through official channels and report any suspicious activity" |
| Akasa Air | "We do not charge fees or deposits from job seekers." "We do not partner with agents who offer jobs for money." | jobverification@akasaair.com |
What the official pages leave out
Knowing what is not published is as useful as knowing what is, because it tells you which claims online cannot be checked. This is the position on 21 October 2026.
| Question | Published by | Not published by |
|---|---|---|
| English level, test format or pass mark | None | All six |
| Result timeline (the "golden call") | None | All six |
| Reapply waiting period | Emirates: 6 months for the same role | Etihad, Qatar Airways, IndiGo, Air India, Akasa |
| Pay figures | Emirates (Grade II figures); Etihad posting ("up to AED 10,000 per month") | Qatar Airways, IndiGo, Air India, Akasa |
| Height or reach | Emirates (160 cm, 212 cm reach); Etihad (163 cm); Qatar Airways (212 cm reach); Air India (155 cm female, 170 cm male) | IndiGo, Akasa (in the text we read) |
| Dated events | Emirates, Etihad, IndiGo | Qatar Airways, Air India, Akasa (none listed on 21 October) |
When a website quotes a pass mark, a test length or a typical wait for the golden call, it is repeating candidate reports. Some of those are useful, and our pages use them, but always labelled. The full requirement comparison is on the requirements page.
