A placement-cell dashboard for students’ communication readiness

TalkDrill gives a placement cell one web console that shows every student’s readiness across seven skill families, rolled up by batch, section or department, next to when they last practised. Add a company drive to the placement calendar and the eligible students switch to a seven-day drive sprint; afterwards, record each outcome next to the student’s readiness band.

What the console shows

A web console you log into. We show the real one on a call rather than a designed mock-up.

Readiness by student and by batch

One readiness picture per student across seven skill families, with coverage shown: a skill not yet assessed says so and is never scored zero. Next to it, when they last practised and how their scores have moved — rolled up per batch, section or department.

Placement calendar and drive sprints

Add a company drive with its date and the eligible batches, and those students’ plans switch to a seven-day drive sprint with a countdown on Home. Afterwards, record each student’s outcome and see it next to their readiness band.

Leaderboards

Ranked by practice minutes, XP, interview score or, if you switch it on, readiness — scoped to a batch or the whole institution. Students see the top ten and their own rank; staff see the full list.

Seniors as interviewers

Flag placed seniors and they can run their company’s mock round for juniors. The AI scores the junior and the senior’s listening, and the questions seniors recall go into a question bank only your college sees, once staff approve them.

Batch reports, a weekly email and CSV

Per batch: who joined, started and finished, baseline against latest, weakest skills and drop-off, plus a pilot evaluation across the rollout. A weekly email covers readiness movement, who is at risk and classes coming up, and every table exports to CSV.

Ask the console

Ask a question about your own students in plain English and get an answer, with a chart where it helps, that names the report behind every number. It only sees what your role is allowed to see.

Around a placement drive

1

Add the drive

The company, the date and the eligible batches go on the placement calendar.

2

Students sprint

Eligible students’ plans switch to a seven-day drive sprint with a countdown on their Home.

3

Seniors run mocks

Placed seniors you have flagged can run their company’s mock round for juniors, scored by the AI.

4

Record outcomes

After the drive, record each student’s outcome and see it next to their readiness band.

How readiness is kept honest

Readiness is measured across seven skill families: speak clearly, language accuracy, interview craft, explain your work, group discussion, professional writing and presence. A skill that has not been assessed yet says so and is never scored zero, so a quiet student is not mistaken for a weak one.

Readiness moves on checkpoints, not on practice minutes. Practice minutes, XP and interview scores sit beside it, and the leaderboard can be ranked by any of them.

What staff can and cannot see

Private practice stays with the student who did it.

Staff can see

When someone last practised, how many sessions and how long

Their scores and progress: readiness across seven skills, interview, speaking, grammar and course chapters

How their placement test was taken, next to their own explanation

Where they stand against your own rules — checkpoints done, classes attended — shown apart from their skill scores

Attendance and participation scores from classes and practice slots

Their rank on their batch’s leaderboard

Staff cannot see

What anyone said in their private practice: no transcript and no replay

Their chats with the AI, their notes, or anything outside TalkDrill

Members are shown exactly this before they join, and they can leave from their own settings at any time. Thirty days after someone leaves, their individual detail is removed from the console; your batch and team totals are unaffected.

Questions placement cells ask

Is there a separate login for the placement cell?

Yes. The console is a web app that staff log into, and each person sees what their role is allowed to see.

Can the console connect to our ERP or LMS?

Not directly today. Every table exports to CSV, a weekly summary arrives by email, and the accreditation exports carry their denominators and sources.

Does it track placement outcomes?

Yes. After a drive you record each student’s outcome, and the console shows it next to the readiness band they were in.

Can staff read what a student said in practice?

No. Staff see activity, scores, progress and rank. Nobody at the institution can read a transcript of, or play back, a student’s private practice.

Is there a screenshot of the console?

Not on this site. A designed mock-up is not the product, so we share the screen and show the real console with real batch data on a call.
