TalkDrill for English and soft-skills faculty

Faculty use TalkDrill to set interview, roleplay, writing or lesson work as guided or independent practice, see each student’s AI score and override it with a reason. Every Monday a co-pilot drafts one assignment per batch from its weakest skills, and a lab hour can become a live group-discussion or mock-interview day with attendance taken from actual time in the room.

What faculty can do

Assignments, a Monday co-pilot and pacing

Faculty set interview, roleplay, writing or lesson work as guided or independent practice, see the AI score and can override it with a reason. Every Monday a co-pilot drafts one assignment per batch from its weakest skills, and faculty choose whether work opens all at once or one step at a time.

Practice slots and lab days

Book a whole batch into level-matched pairs or five-person GDs with task cards, or start a live GD or mock-interview day in the lab. Attendance comes from actual time in the room, never from a tap.

Group classes with trainers

Workshops, masterclasses and mock-interview marathons, in a TalkDrill room or on Meet or Teams. Upload a class transcript to score each student’s share of the talking; the text itself is not stored.

Seniors as interviewers

Flag placed seniors and they can run their company’s mock round for juniors. The AI scores the junior and the senior’s listening, and the questions seniors recall go into a question bank only your college sees, once staff approve them.

What students get back

Feedback that teaches, and Hindi-first answering

Interview, roleplay and writing reports name one strength, one change quoting the student’s own words, a two-minute drill and a retry with a before and after. In guided practice a student can answer in Hindi or Hinglish first; the coach asks again in English and scores only the English answer.

Roleplay, writing and pronunciation, all scored

AI roleplay at a difficulty you set, from a viva to a salary conversation. Emails and essays scored on task response, organisation, grammar, vocabulary, mechanics and tone. And every spoken session scored on pronunciation and fluency.

Two English courses and 20 games

English Grammar Basics and Everyday Spoken English: about 100 short chapters that end with the student saying it out loud, with progress and stars per learner. Plus 20 short vocabulary, grammar and listening games for the days nobody has twenty minutes.

AI mock interviews, with a scored report

A full interview with an AI interviewer — including one built from a pasted job description — then a report they can act on: an overall score, the filler words they leaned on, their speaking pace, and the three fixes that would move the needle most.

How it fits a timetable

There is nothing to install on college machines and no lab that has to be booked. Students practise on their own phones between classes; practice slots and lab days are there when faculty want a whole batch practising at once, not a requirement.

Faculty choose whether an assignment opens all at once or one step at a time, and every score the AI gives can be overridden with a reason, so the final mark stays a faculty decision.

Once your course outcomes are mapped to the seven skills, the same scores feed CO/PO attainment and the accreditation appendices, so evidence for the English lab or a skill-enhancement course does not have to be typed up by hand.

Questions placement cells ask

Can faculty change a score the AI gave?

Yes. Faculty see the AI score on every assignment and can override it with a reason.

Do faculty have to write the assignments?

No. Every Monday a co-pilot drafts one assignment per batch from that batch’s weakest skills, and faculty decide whether to use it. They can also set interview, roleplay, writing or lesson work themselves.

Can faculty listen to what a student said?

Not in private practice. Staff see activity, scores, progress and rank, but nobody at the institution can read a transcript of, or replay, a student’s private practice.

What is a lab day?

A live group-discussion or mock-interview day run in a lab hour. Faculty start it from the console, and attendance comes from actual time in the room, never from a tap.

Does it replace the English or soft-skills trainer?

No. It supplies what one trainer cannot give four hundred students personally: repetition on demand, scored the same way every time, and a record of who is improving.
