  • 30-45 minutes of quiet time daily

Weeks 1-3: Foundation

Goal: Build pronunciation accuracy, activate listening skills, and start daily speaking habit.

Daily Routine (30 minutes)

  • Listening (10 min): Listen to an English podcast or YouTube video. Focus on understanding, not translating. Recommended: BBC Learning English, TED-Ed, English Addict with Mr. Duncan.
  • Pronunciation (10 min): Practice tongue twisters and problem sounds. Focus on sounds that do not exist in Hindi: th, v/w distinction, r/l distinction.
  • Speaking (10 min): Read aloud from any English text with full expression. Record Day 1 and Day 21 readings of the same passage to see improvement.

Weekly Focus

  • Week 1: Build the daily habit. Quality does not matter yet — consistency does.
  • Week 2: Focus on vowel sounds and word stress patterns.
  • Week 3: Practice connected speech — how words blend together in natural English.

Weeks 4-6: Building Fluency

Goal: Increase speaking speed, build automatic phrase recall, and start thinking in English.

Daily Routine (30 minutes)

  • Shadowing (10 min): Shadow a podcast or video — speak along with the speaker, matching speed and rhythm.
  • Vocabulary chunks (5 min): Learn 3 new phrases and practice them in sentences.
  • Speed drill + self-talk (15 min): 60-second speed drill on random topics + self-talk narration.

Weekly Focus

  • Week 4: Master 20 common English phrases that you use daily.
  • Week 5: Practice describing things (objects, people, events) fluently.
  • Week 6: Practice narrating stories and explaining processes.

Weeks 7-9: Confidence

Goal: Build conversation skills, handle complex topics, and reduce anxiety.

Daily Routine (35 minutes)

  • AI conversation (15 min): Practice conversations on different topics with TalkDrill.
  • News discussion (10 min): Read a news article, then speak your opinion about it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Error correction (10 min): Record a 3-minute speech, listen back, note errors, re-record with corrections.

Weekly Focus

  • Week 7: Practice small talk and casual conversations.
  • Week 8: Practice professional conversations — meetings, presentations, emails.
  • Week 9: Practice debates and expressing opinions on controversial topics.

Weeks 10-12: Real-World Mastery

Goal: Apply skills in real-world situations and build lasting habits.

Daily Routine (45 minutes)

  • Real interaction (15 min): Have at least one real English conversation daily — colleague, friend, shopkeeper, or online partner.
  • Presentation practice (15 min): Practice giving a 5-minute presentation on a topic.
  • Review + AI practice (15 min): Practice scenarios that challenge you most.

Weekly Focus

  • Week 10: Practice real conversations — ordering food in English, asking for directions, work discussions.
  • Week 11: Practice formal situations — interviews, client calls, presentations.
  • Week 12: Integration week — combine all skills in varied real-world situations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I really learn English speaking at home without a teacher?

Yes, self-study is effective for English speaking with the right structure and tools. This course provides the structure (what to practice each day), and tools like TalkDrill provide the interactive practice. A teacher accelerates progress but is not essential. Many fluent English speakers are self-taught through consistent practice and immersion.

How much time do I need to dedicate daily?

This course is designed for 30-45 minutes per day. You can split this into 2-3 shorter sessions throughout the day. For example: 15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes during lunch, and 15 minutes in the evening. Consistency matters more than duration.

Is this course suitable for complete beginners?

This course is best for intermediate learners who can read and understand English but struggle to speak it. If you are a complete beginner who does not understand basic English, start with a beginner vocabulary and grammar course first. Most Indian learners who studied English in school have the foundation needed to benefit from this speaking course.
