Terms of Service for Tutors — TalkDrill Tutor app

Who these terms are for

These terms cover tutors who teach on TalkDrill using the TalkDrill Tutor app. Learners use the TalkDrill app and website under their own terms.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 and give accurate details about yourself.
• Before you can teach, TalkDrill checks your identity and background. You upload an identity document, a résumé and a selfie for this. TalkDrill may approve or decline an application.
• Keep your phone number and sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for sessions taught from your account.

Teaching on TalkDrill

• Keep your availability up to date, join sessions on time, and cancel only when you must.
• Treat learners with respect. Abusive, offensive or inappropriate behaviour or content is not allowed.
• Sessions may be recorded and transcribed so that you and the learner can review them and so that TalkDrill can look into quality or safety concerns. The app tells you before a session and while recording is on.

Payments

• TalkDrill pays tutors for completed sessions. Your earnings and payout history are shown in the app. Rates and payout timing are agreed with TalkDrill.
• Nothing is sold in this app, and you are never charged by it.

Suspension

• TalkDrill may pause or close an account that breaks these terms or puts learners at risk.

Deleting your account

• You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account (or from the verification screen while your application is under review).
• Deletion completes after a 7-day window in which you can change your mind. Upcoming sessions are cancelled and the learners told. Money TalkDrill owes you is still paid.

Limitation of liability

TalkDrill is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or losses arising from your use of the app.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will show the new effective date here, and continuing to teach on TalkDrill after a change means you accept it.
